Based in South Florida, Joseph A. DiRuzzo, III, represents his clients in high-stakes civil and criminal litigation against the government, and in complex civil litigation where accounting is at issue.  Mr. DiRuzzo has extensive trial and appellate experience, having tried over fifty civil and criminal cases at the federal, state, and territorial levels, including jury trials before the United States District Courts, and bench trials before the U.S. Tax Court.  Additionally, Mr. DiRuzzo has litigated over forty appeals before the United States Circuit Courts, and has participated in over twenty appellate oral arguments.

Mr. DiRuzzo assists his domestic and international clients in the structuring of transactions, addressing governmental compliance issues after the transaction has been consummated, and providing any post-transaction litigation support at the audit, trial and the appellate levels. With a background as both a Board Certified attorney and as a CPA, Mr. DiRuzzo has the ability to view client issues from different perspectives to provide a fully integrated approach, combining law, tax, accounting, and business acumen to provide valuable legal support to his clients.

Mr. DiRuzzo regularly litigates against the Virgin Islands Bureau of Internal Revenue, having secured tax refunds for his clients in the tens of millions of dollars.
